Funeral services for Kendall Ray “Butch” Snow, 70 year-old Eakly resident, will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Eakly with Reverend Monte Veal officiating. Burial will follow at the Eakly Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Butch was born September 4, 1945, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Doyle and Lois (Story) Snow and passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, surrounded by his family at home in Eakly, Oklahoma.
Butch was raised in Eakly and graduated from Eakly High School in 1963. He married Jolene Horn on January 26, 1964, in Alfalfa, Oklahoma, making their home together in Eakly. Butch started working at a young age, beginning at the Eakly Co-Op and for area farmers before working at Eakly Propane Company for 20 years. During his years at Eakly Propane Company Butch also operated a custom hay baling business. Butch and Jolene later owned and operated Horn Canna Farm for almost 20 years before retiring from farming in 2008. Butch enjoyed baseball, coaching little league, water skiing, traveling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Eakly Fire Department or Friends of Eakly “Make-Over” Fund.
Butch is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jolene, of the home in Eakly, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shelley and husband Kerry Urton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son, Dustin and wife Nikki Snow of Alfalfa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jowana Gaudelli of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Beverly Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Yancy Snow of Eakly, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren, Austin, Autumn, Aaron and Afton Urton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Madison, Sage, Corinne, Ellyn and Turner Snow of Alfalfa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents.
